Atlanta's changing seasons

It's summertime in Atlanta right now but I've been around long enough to know about the changing seasons here: they're out of this world.

In springtime I like to smell the flowers, roll in clover fields and chase the hundreds of squirrels that come out of every hiding hole.

In summer the days are so long because the sun doesn't set until 9.30pm and I can spend much longer than usual playing at the park or at grandma's.  This means I'm warn out well before bed time

In fall (or autumn as mommy calls it) I love crunching leaves beneath my paws and catching them when someone throws them in the air or they fall from a tree.

My very first fall when I was still a pup in Piedmont Park

In wintertime it snowed last year but my parents say that's not typical.  I loved the snow and sat by the door begging to be let out so I could sniff it and taste it but also feel it melting on my fur.

But even if it doesn't snow I like to be outside because I have lots of coats to keep me warm.

My trip to Savannah

I got to go along with mommy and daddy to Savannah over the weekend: it was so much fun! Here are some snapshots:

The trolley tour was pet friendly!
And I was very well behaved
We ate out a lot
Went on heaps of walks

Did some shopping
And had plenty of down time

Sweetwater Creek Park, Atlanta

Mommy's been working a lot lately, she's only home with me once or twice a week now -  that's why she's been too busy to update my blog (even though grandma and me keep bugging her to)!  It's almost been an entire month since daddy found us this wonderful, dog friendly park... but mom's only just got the pics up, so I can finally share them with you!  It's called "Sweetwater Creek Park," really close to our place, we spent an entire afternoon there and walked almost 6 miles!  I was wiped out when we got home.

Hurry up and take the photo mom!
It's about time!! That took forever... I'm off!
One bath later... I'm done!

My Midtown life

We've lived in Midtown Atlanta for almost a year and a half now. I've gotten used to living in the city.  Mommy says I'm the perfect size to be an apartment dog.  I disagree with that. I wish we had a yard because there's nothing I love more than running free and rolling around in grass to get rid of the doggy deodorant smell that mommy loves to spray on me.  But mom and dad are determined to live in the city and although it's boring being cooped up all day while they're at work; they are quite good at making up for it when they get home at night. Weekends are my favorite! We get to go visit various family members, go on trips to the mountains and parks or spend more time at Piedmont park off my leash. (shh! don't tell).

Here is Piedmont Park where I go for walks most evenings:

Here is my favorite park in the city:

(It's a private garden for people who live near it - we used to live near it but since we know everyone there now and I have lots of friends, we're still allowed to visit.  And I get to spend the whole time off my leash!)

Here is where I get "groomed" (tortured more like):

The man who cuts my hair is called and I suppose if we met under different circumstances I would like him but as it stands, he always washes me and cuts my hair so I run away every time I see him.

Still, I guess living in the city isn't SO bad...
